Daddy's Corner

Aug. 11 - We are doing well

Colin is now a day shy of two months old. It seems that we have figured out a routine that keeps everyone moderately sane, though sleep is still a precious commodity around here. Colin is a great kid, fussing only when something is obviously wrong. However, he has learned to talk (his own language of course) and will stay up in the middle of the night just having a mono log. This morning, it went from 4:30 to 5:30 before he finally came to whatever conclusion he was progressing towards and fell asleep. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem at all, but because of the size of our condo, Colin's crib is four feet from our bed, and we are therefore involuntarrily included in the converstation.

He is a cutie though! He is able to focus on people several feet away now, and will great Allison and I with a huge grin when he sees us. He is ticklish everywhere and giggles to no end to reward those that tickle him.

I just received word that good friends of ours are in the hospital in the process of delivering their first baby, a little boy. I asked the new dad yesterday when I learned that they were almost there if he was excited. He told me that he had butterflies. I had to smile at that as mine haven't left yet.

Even though the Daddy's corners and Allison's Journals are not coming as fast as they used to, with Colin here, we are constantly posting pictures to the photo galleries. With so many friends and family out of easy visiting distance, we want to help as many people get to know him as we can.

When I was little, I remember the babies would talk in their baby language, and my grandma would say, "The language of heaven, the language of angels!"

It's baby praise! Psalm 8:2 says, "From the lips of children and infants You [God] have ordained praise." This actally means babies and babies in the womb! So cool!! And this "babble" or baby praise, silences the enemy! Yippee!
